Oats for lunch

5 months has passed since I had oats for lunch.

5 months ago, due to the need to save money as my traveling funds for trip to Western Australia, I have taken oats as lunch for everyday. One pack of oats which cost RM8 can last me for one month, where the calculation will be as follow:

1 week work for 6 days = 6
1 month consider as 4 weeks = 4
so 1 month = 6 * 4 = 24 days that will take oats as lunch
RM8 / 24 = RM0.33 per day

RM0.33 for my lunch daily, UNBELIEVABLE! But then at the same time I will have to withstand the temptations in the office while taking oats, as my colleagues are having rice and other nice dishes as lunch, I will have to bear with it.

Other than the advantages of saving money, by talking oats everyday, also helped me to put down my weight, where previously I was 95KG and after one month, my weight dropped till 85KG, and I look slimmer XD.

Well, after that I have stopped taking oats for lunch and go back to my old diet, ECONOMIC RICE~, but recently seems like my weight has been gone up again, and my waist seems like bigger than before.

Well, I guess it's time to have oats for today again to put down my weight :P

Computer threat on April's Fool

11:00 PM, Wednesday, 31/3/2009, my department head gave me and emergency call and asked me to go back to the office, to help to update the Windows patches in order to prevent the coming threat, Conficker worm.

So what's this worm about? Well, according to Computer World, the Conficker.C will establish a link to the command-and-control servers with a new communication scheme, I guess that means it will open a back door that allows hackers to access the infected PC. But good news for users who are not using Windows OS, as the worm will only attack on PCs running Windows XP and Vista (good job, Microsoft!).

Below is how does the Conficker Worm works.

For those who are using Windows XP Service Pack 2, here is the link to download the patch:

For those who are using Windows Vista, here is the link to download the patch:

Well, lets just hope that this is just another April Fool's joke and that it won't cause any chaos.

Canton-i

Last Saturday, as usual, me and my colleagues are discussing where to have our lunch and as usual, the common answer I got is Bukit Jambul's "Pan Mee" and Sakae Sushi (I am sick of Sakae Sushi, I have been there at least 3 times within 2 weeks, so as Pan Mee, which we almost go on every Saturday.) So, instead of go to either of these places, I made the final decision - Canton-i in Queensbay.

Canton-i is located at the ground floor of Queensbay Mall, opposite of Starbucks (not exactly opposite though).

The decoration of the shop is not bad, and without hesitation I walked into the shop with my colleagues. Reading through the menu, only found out that, Canton-i is under the group of Dragon-i, so price is expected more or less the same as Dragon-i. Food in the menu are mostly noodles and porridge, as the Chinese name for Canton-i is interpret as Hong Kong House of Porridge and Noodles.

After much consideration, I decided to order the Wantan Mee with 2 side dishes, where I can choose the side dishes of my liking. So I chosen "Char Siu" and Mushroom as my side dishes and a cup of nice looking flower tea as my lunch.

After submitted my order, the waitress come back to me, and told me that, Char Siu is out of stock. Well, without Char Siu, I forced to choose Roasted Pork. A minute later, the waitress came back to me again, this time, she's telling me that Mushroom also out of stock temporary. Arghhh, it's just not my day, whatever I wanna order are out of stock...... Without much choices, I chose Dumpling as my second dish.

Lunch was served within 15 minutes, since there are not too many customers. First impression on my noodles - normal, so are the side dishes. How bout the taste? Well, honestly I would rate it 7 out of 10, as it's not really so special and the food doesn't made me fly to the sky, so it's just moderate. How bout the price? I would say it's kinda expensive for just a plate of noodles, 2 dumplings and 6 pieces of Roasted Pork, and it cost me RM14++, and the nice looking flower tea cost me RM5, excluded tax.

In conclusion, if you have too much money and have no place to spend, you're welcome to Canton-i.

For me, I would prefer to go to the hawker stall for Wantan Noodles.

PS: no photos included, as I didn't bring along my DC with me :P

Welcome to Quizbook

Recently when I open up my Facebook, what I will see is:

Which superhero are you?
What kind of lover you are?
Are you a good bf/gf?
What kind of weapons you're carrying?
What kind of animals you like?
What does your birthday means?

and so on and so forth.......

Well, I admit that I did answered some of those quiz previously, but now, I am sick of it, when you see 10 quiz sent to you daily. Furthermore, most of the quiz does not make sense and is not accurate at all.

Well, Facebook might become Quizbook someday.

That's expensive.....

Last Sat I went to Queensbay for lunch, and after shopping with 2 friends of mine, I went to a camera shop to look for the price of Nikon D90. The price is RM4299, well, that's actually kinda expensive, but at least it's cheaper than I expected, because I expect it to be RM4500.

But guess what, I saw that the shop accepts payment by installments, and is up to 24 months. Wow! good news for me, RM244 per month, affordable, YES~~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But after some math calculation, where:

244 X 24 = RM5856

RM5856 - RM4299 = RM1557

RM1577 additional charges?????!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, with RM1557, I can go for another compact DC.

So?

Just let it be, maybe next time....

28/3/2009 - Earth Hour

It's a special day on last Saturday, it's the Earth Hour day (wondering why don't they just call it the Earth day?).

What have I done in the 1 hour?

1) I switched off the light in my room.
2) I switched off the fan.
3) I switched off my PC.
4) I switched off my radio clock.
5) I sit on the bed.
6) Then I started SMS my friend.

What's my opinion regarding Earth Hour? Actually nothing much special, for me it's just like moment without electricity; but it does reminded me something.

Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

It reminds me that, at first God created men to have dominion over the Earth and as the care taker of it. But after Adam sinned, men begin to walk their own way, and have forgotten the responsibility assigned to them by God. Today we live in a world that's polluted, and yet some people are trying to blame on the cows, that their poos release too much gases that traps the heat.

I guess it's time to wake up and stop pointing finger on others and do our part.

My second blog

Hmm, wonder where's my first blog? Well, it's a history, so just ignore it, since the previous blog is not well handled, so just let it be a history.

Hmm, new blog, so what to do with it? Well, I guess I will just share whatever I wanna share (crap), what happens in my life, what I learned in my life, my thoughts and of course what God have taught me through His words and trough my life also, many to share, hope that I won't get stagnant for this blog, else I might have to come out with the 3rd blog to re-encourage myself.
