25/7/2009 Georgetown - UNESCO World Heritage Site Part 2

When the clock reached 6:30 PM, the Lion Dance begun at the compound of the Han Jiang Association.

Followed by the 24 Drums performance. The 24 Drums was started in Johor, Malaysia back in 1988. The 24 Drums represents 24 periods within the Chinese (Lunar) Calendar, which includes 立春,雨水,惊蛰,春分,清明,谷雨,立夏,小满,芒种,夏至,小暑,大暑,立秋,处暑,白露,秋分,寒露,霜降,立秋,小雪,大雪,冬至,小寒,大寒 (Unfortunately, I do not know how to translate all into Chinese, as I only understand few of the periods.) and each of the drums is play by one drummer.

After the 24 Drums performance, there was a martial arts performance.

After the martial arts presentation, it was followed by Dragon Dance.
